It's Friday

So here it is Friday morning and I'm looking around at all of the spots that I think of you sitting in.

Of course there's the first look from the porch when you drive up the driveway and everyone yells your name.

The Cheers cast has nothing on us when it comes to greeting our friends and Moose family at the top of the hill.

As I walk around I see a short stack of Connie's rocks, waiting for her to revisit and rebuild. There's an old box of Cheerios that I'm throwing out, will get Glyn a fresh box next time.  The hardup isn't up, we have the EZ up instead. It's on the bricks and we use it for social distance visiting, which you should know in case you want to stop by sometime When I jumped in the pool this afternoon, (it's really hot here) I think of all the splashing and laughing that we do in the pool. The little kids, and the adult kids and the old kids all gathering, cooling off, sharing stories around the edge of the pool.  I think about Brad going back and replenishing cold drinks for everyone. All of the  sunbathers shiny with sunscreen and shade stalkers avoiding the sunshine. I think of Syd and Cameron comparing notes on their monitors. Btw, I need new recipes from both of you to make sure that your needs are covered in addition to what you already take care of.  As I come into the house again I realized my furniture looks a little bewildered.  This year it will not have its annual vacation on the back deck.  There's no porta potty, which is pretty much okay. Especially since Mike was able to fix the indoor plumbing this week.  Yes this week we had our annual pre-moose situations.  Bathroom problems, have been fixed as I mentioned before. Last minute we started a big project. I've been working on clearing out Mom's room. I talked to Mike about paint and the next thing I knew he was buying paint! So most of the furniture is out on the deck, waiting to be arranged and rearranged as I sort out my emotions and Mom's belongings.  I miss her.  I wander down to the campground and think about how it came to be. The teamwork from all of you campers making it workable for your needs.  The meadow is also a little confused. Waiting for the comings and goings, trips up and down the driveway, even my little car keeps pausing and wanting to turn to the right when I get down to the bottom of the hill. You are missed by us all. But then as I wander back into the house I think of dancing in the kitchen and I do a few steps.  I plan to do a lot of that this weekend.  As I stand in the hallway I can almost hear you all laughing and talking around the house.  The drums at the side door, guitars and cables everywhere, fans blowing, beers and sodas tucked all around, and refilled as needed as we try to stay hydrated. I smile as I think of those moments when everyone hits their stride, and The crowd goes wild.  If I hold very still I can hear the echos of the music, the discussions between songs, the do-overs, the jamming, the people playing together who never played together before.  But mostly I think of those moments when the house is full and there's dancing everywhere and we are all together.  We are all together still, in my heart,in my memories and in my hopes and dreams of the future. Carry on my friends Kim
